This is such a kick to read about Virl Norton. I had no idea he was an endurance rider or of any fame. I only knew him as the "horse trader" that we bought my first horse from!

It was 1964, and I was so excited to finally go horse shopping with my family. Virl brought out this great pinto mare and after a few hours of playing and riding, we took her home. She was the best horse!

Virl was so relaxed and easy going, I thought he must be the "perfect cowboy". Wish we had lived closer to Virl, I would have benefitted from knowing him and learned about endurance riding sooner!
