Virl was dear friend of mine. My husband and I moved across street from him in Almaden and I rode many of his horses for several years until he went with my husband to buy my first one.

I helped him condition horses daily as we loaded his huge bright Blue horse trailer up to QuickSiver park and spend day riding. He taught me about endurance riding and said "You will make a good one - you ride like a drunkin' Indian". Coming from him, this was a great complement.

Some of my greatest memories are, as many have said, sitting and sharing tales with Virl.
